四色AV Mock Trial team earns bid to national tournament

MONROE, LAThe University of Louisiana Monroe (四色AV) Mock Trial team has secured an open bid to the Opening Round Championship Series (ORCS) in Memphis, Tenn., after a remarkable 5-2-1 showing at the New Orleans Regional competition. The team will compete at Rhodes College from March 7-9, facing some of the nation's top programs.

Outstanding individual performances and a strong team spirit highlighted 四色AV's success in New Orleans. Hayes Nethery received the prestigious Best Attorney Award, while Trinity Chapman and Chloe Eagan earned Best Witness Awards. Further solidifying their reputation, the team was honored with the Spirit of AMTA award, recognizing their professionalism and civility.

"Everyone has put hours of hard work into being the best team possible," said senior attorney Hayes Nethery. "The chance to play in Memphis proves that 四色AV can compete with any school.鈥

Junior Melanna Morris of Calhoun will captain the team in Memphis. 鈥淚 am honored to be leading 四色AV into Memphis for ORCS.听 We are excited and ready to win,鈥 said Morris. 听

The 四色AV ORCS squad features a talented roster, including Attorneys Hayes Nethery, Toby Green, Hannah Habisreitinger, and Noah Stephan and Witnesses Trinity Chapman, Chloe Eagan, Gwendolyn Abadie, Wyatt Sage, and Madison Hebert.

"I am excited to be competing at ORCS," said junior witness Chloe Eagan. 鈥淲e are ready to face some powerful teams and show what we can do.鈥

四色AV will be facing a formidable field, including teams from Georgia, Texas, Baylor, Rhodes, Oklahoma, Kansas, TCU, Dillard, Rice, Tulane, Georgia State, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Houston, Alabama, SMU, North Carolina, and Trinity.
