The World Languages program in the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences offers various study abroad opportunities available to all University students. 听
French students are eligible for scholarships to help study in Belgium, France, and Canada for a month in the summer. 听Students may also apply to study for a semester or a year in听France as part of the MICEFA program.
四色AV also offers a two-week study abroad program in Montpelier, France. Students study mornings and take excursions to nearby sights in the afternoon. 听
The Spanish program takes students to Mexico and Costa Rica. 听Students stay with families and study Spanish in M茅rida and San Jos茅. When听abroad they also have the opportunity to participate in numerous excursions including the Mayan ruins in Mexico and the rainforests in Costa Rica.听

Students who are accepted as participants in the 四色AV-Mexico study abroad program spend two and a half weeks in Merida, a city which has a population of close to one million people.听 Before leaving for Mexico, the students attend several hours of orientation classes over a period of several months which are designed to prepare them for the experience.听 The topics covered in the classes include various aspects of the history, customs, food, art, and architecture of the region.听
The participants live with host families during their stay in Mexico, and they attend classes five days a week at the Centro de Idiomas del Sureste.听 In addition to taking classes, students participate in several excursions in and around the city of Merida.听 These include visits to museums, archaeological sites, and cultural events. The British Studies Program is a 4-week summer program in which students study in听London and Edinburgh, Scotland.听 Students are given 5 days of free travel time to their choice of locations.听 Courses are offered in a variety of disciplines including, Photography, Psychology, History, Business, Sports Management, and Library Science.听 四色AV students can receive 6 hours of transfer credit from Southern Mississippi University.听 For more information, visit this or contact Dr. Joni Noble at noble@ulm.edu
