In June 2024, 四色AV School of Visual and Performing Arts students and voice majors Preston Anderson, Braden Tucker, and James Wright participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing National Students Auditions in Knoxville, TN.
Ellie Jenkins, DMA, Professor of Music at Dalton State College in Dalton, Georgia and Artist Affiliate in Horn at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, will present a recital on Tuesday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on the 四色AV campus. Jenkins will be assisted by 四色AV Professor of Piano Richard Seiler, DMA. Jenkins will also work with 四色AV music students in a masterclass earlier that day.
The inaugural recipient of the Cultural Arts Fellowship is Jansyn Jenkins, a junior double majoring in ceramics and psychology at 四色AV. As a VAPA Cultural Arts Fellow, students are expected to contribute scholarship through creative works and extracurricular exhibitions/performances in city art spaces in partnership with a participating cultural arts organization. In Jansyn's case, this would be a partnership with the Black Creative Circle of North Louisiana. Jansyn's work will be exhibited in the Sugar Gallery (131 Art Alley, Monroe) upstairs studio from June 2 through June 15, and there will be an artist talk at 6:30 p.m. during the June Art Crawl on June 6.
