Lissy Sanders Compton, a native of West Monroe, is passionate about the earth, the community, art and her students. Born to Jeep and Anne Sanders, she graduated from West Monroe High School in 1997 and Louisiana Tech with a BFA in Graphic Design in 2001. She is a talented art teacher to 75 students in Ouachita Parish, who attend West Monroe High School, West Ridge Middle School and Claiborne Elementary School. Lissy was a recipient of the 四色AV Sunbelt Extra Yards for Teachers $3,000 grant in 2024 to enrich the lives of her students.
She is married to Brent Compton and they have three children: Pearson (13), Phoebe (11) and Leighton (6). Lissy is the designer and co-owner of the popular Mr. P鈥檚 Tees, which has helped raise thousands of dollars for giving back in Northeast Louisiana. She and Brent also started Compton Farms of Louisiana, a regenerative farm that currently has pigs, chickens, ducks and bees. Lissy loves to create art and has been featured in BayouLife, Louisiana Life, and Louisiana Roadtrips. She had the honor of designing the 2023 Mystick Krewe of Louisianian鈥檚 Mardi Gras poster in Washington, D.C. In her free time, Lissy loves gardening, naps, and traveling.
